4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine in the Cayenne S.

The Cayenne S is powered by a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine with a maximum power output of 468 hp and a drag torque of 442 lb-ft. V8 engines stand for exceptional power output, high torque, smooth operation and a characteristic sound.

Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM).

PASM allows electronic adjustment of the damping control system and is standard on all Cayenne models. It actively and continuously adjusts the damping force according to the road conditions and driving mode. For reduced body shell movement and more comfort in every seat. The settings available are Normal, Sport and Offroad as well as Sport Plus in combination with the Sport Chrono package.

Adaptive air suspension.

The enhanced adaptive air suspension with full load-bearing air-spring struts in 2-chamber technology allows for an even greater combination of comfort and sportiness while at the same time maintaining the same ride comfort. The level system helps to maintain a constant ride height. By adjusting the height of the chassis, the ground clearance can be varied as required, for example during off-road use. The rear end can also be lowered for easier loading of the luggage compartment.

The Cayenne models manage this balancing act effortlessly: thanks to the enhanced chassis and technologies that adapt the chassis even better to the intended use — such as off-road use. Examples include the adaptive air suspension, the Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control (PDCC) for active roll stabilization and the rear-axle steering.

Wheels and chassis.

Standard 20-inch and other 21- and 22-inch wheels optimize handling with a new tire size. Fundamental revisions to the chassis and a new adaptive air suspension ensure both greater comfort and increased performance. Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) is standard on all models.

Towing capacity.

An electrically extendable towbar is available as an option for the Cayenne models. It can be operated at the push of a button and offers maximum 7,716 lbs braked towed weight.

E-Hybrid.

With the current battery generation of the Cayenne E-Hybrid models, the electric range has been increased. In addition, the new electric motor provides superior driving performance in electric mode.

Porsche InnoDrive

Regulates driving speed based on high-definition navigation data, radar, and video sensor technology in order to deliver typical Porsche driving feel, increased efficiency, and improved comfort. Driving speed is predictively adapted to speed restrictions and road topography (elevation changes, corners). At the same time, Porsche InnoDrive controls acceleration, deceleration, and gear selection (including coasting). The system looks ahead up to 1.8 miles, and analyzes the real-time driving strategy, providing a harmonious and efficient drive. Traffic Jam Assist works alongside the driver in highly congested sections of roadway (up to approximately 37 mph). It actively guides the vehicle along with gentle steering inputs and follows the traffic ahead where system limitations allow. In the process, Traffic Jam Assist takes into consideration roadway markings and other vehicles on the roadway.

Adaptive Cruise Control incl. Lane Keep Assist (LKA)

Radar- and video-based technology that monitors and automatically regulates the distance from the vehicle in front as required even down to a halt by means of the stop-and-go function (usable at 19+ mph). Additional functions: audible warning if too close; warning by active jolt of the brakes; strategic braking; visual and audible warning if pedestrians are detected within collision range.

Active Parking Support

The system automatically detects parking spaces. Once the system has signaled that the parking space is of sufficient size, the driver can initiate and control the parking process. The system automatically takes over the steering and the forward and backward movement of the vehicle. Active Parking Support is able to park the vehicle in parallel and perpendicular parking spaces.

Night Vision Assist

Infrared thermal image displayed in the instrument cluster. Provides the driver with information beyond the range of the headlights. Detected pedestrians, deer, and other large wildlife are highlighted in yellow. Pedestrians within critical range are highlighted in red, and the driver receives an audio/visual warning.
