Twin-turbo six-cylinder horizontally opposed engine.
The engine of the 911 models has a twin-turbo configuration. Its stand-out qualities: exceptional power across the speed range, extraordinarily direct responsiveness and a wide torque plateau, even at low speeds. The horizontally opposed construction, with its short length, low height and position in the vehicle rear allows for a low center of gravity. The engine mounts near the center of the car ensure greater stability and fewer vibrations.
Turbochargers.
The engines have two turbochargers and charge-air cooling. It's an important element of the exhaust turbocharging and greatly contributes to simultaneously increasing performance and reducing emissions.
8-speed Porsche Doppelkupplung (PDK).
The 8-speed Porsche Doppelkupplung (PDK) enables incredibly swift gear changes without interrupting the flow of power – in milliseconds. PDK combines a very sporty tuning in first to sixth gear with efficient overdrive ratios (seventh and eighth gear).
7-speed manual transmission.
The 7-speed manual transmission with Sport Chrono Package is available as an option for the 911 Carrera S models and the 911 Targa 4S. The short distances with optimum connection to the individual gears ensure a very direct link between driver and car. The included Sport Chrono Package enables an even sportier tuning of the chassis, engine and transmission.
Porsche Traction Management (PTM).
All-wheel drive Porsche Traction Management (PTM) optimally distributes drive force between the permanently driven rear axle and the front axle. For excellent drive and an incredibly harmonious handling right at the limits.
Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus (PTV Plus).
PTV Plus is a system intended to improve driving dynamics and stability. It works with a precise application of the brakes on the rear wheels and a rear differential lock. For increased stability, outstanding traction and high agility at any speed.
Active Suspension Management (PASM).
PASM is an electronic damping control system that actively and continuously controls the damping force, depending on the road conditions and driving mode, for each individual wheel. For more comfort with increased dynamics.
PASM sport suspension.
With the PASM sport suspension, the body is lowered a further 10 mm in relation to the PASM chassis. The springs are stiffer and shorter, the anti-roll bars on the front and rear axles are stiffer. The spring rates have been significantly raised, giving the 911 a more neutral and balanced presence on the road.
Porsche Stability Management (PSM).
Porsche Stability Management (PSM) is an automatic control system for maintaining stability at the limits of dynamic driving performance. For a high level of driving stability and safety – and extraordinary agility at the same time. In conjunction with the Sport Chrono Package, PSM is supplemented by a Sport mode. This allows a significantly more sporty driving style, with PSM remaining active in the background.
Rear-axle steering.
Rear-axle steering enhances performance and suitability for everyday use in equal measure; by improving the handling during low-speed maneuvers and making maneuvers and turns easier. At the same time, the rear-axle steering gives significantly more driving stability during high-speed maneuvers.
Dynamic Chassis Control (PDCC).
PDCC is an active roll stabilization system. It suppresses lateral body movement when cornering dynamically. For improved dynamic performance, even more neutral handling and increased ride comfort – whatever the speed.
The brakes are matched to the high performance of the 911 models. In the911 Carrera models, four-piston aluminum monobloc fixed brake calipers grip 330 mm brake discs. In the Carrera S models, the front axle is equipped with six-piston aluminum monobloc fixed brake calipers, and four-piston equivalents at the rear. The brake disc diameter is adapted to the increased power output, 350 mm at the front and rear.
Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes (PCCB).
Lighter, more stable, motorsport proven: the Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes (PCCB) provides even greater braking performance thanks to ceramic brake discs with 410 mm diameter at the front axle and 390 mm at the rear axle. Another advantage: thanks to the extremely low weight of the brake discs, the traction and the comfort are significantly improved. The six-piston aluminum monobloc fixed brake calipers at the front, and four-piston units at the rear provide braking forces that are considerably more powerful and, crucially, are exceptionally consistent.
Adrenaline at the push of a button: the Sport Chrono Package with mode switch, Porsche Track Precision app and tire temperature display. Its functions enable an even sportier tuning of the engine, chassis and transmission.
Mode switch and SPORT Response button.
The mode switch allows you to select different driving styles, e.g. increase the driving dynamics, save your personal preferences or aid driving on wet roads. The SPORT Response button prepares the engine and transmission for a fast unleashing of power for approx. 20 seconds of maximum responsiveness.
Porsche Track Precision app.*
With the Porsche Track Precision app as part of the Sport Chrono Package you can very easily measure lap times and driving data – using your smartphone. To save, share or compare with other drivers.

The Launch Control function, with Porsche Doppelkupplung (PDK) in the SPORT PLUS mode enables the best possible standing start. With the motorsport-derived gearshift strategy, PDK is geared up for extremely short shift times and optimum shift points for maximum acceleration.
Elegant. Puristic. Unmistakable: in 1963, F. A. Porsche achieved great success with the 911 silhouette. With clear lines and the unity of form and function. Over 50 years later, the world knows many sports cars. But only one 911.
911 Carrera S
The Coupe version of the 911 embodies Porsche DNA in its purest form: the long, flat hood, the steeply inclined windshield and the roof line that slopes gently down towards the rear, already characterized the original 911.
911 Carrera 4S Cabriolet
The open-top variant of the 911 has always been characterized by a heightened feeling of freedom and plenty of fresh air. When closed, the Cabriolet has the elegant silhouette of the 911 Coupe models – thanks to its fully automatic fabric roof.
911 Targa 4S
The most stylish 911 model has the addition 'targa'. With its characteristic roll-over bar and innovative roof concept, the 911 Targa is a timeless classic. And at the same time it is an open-top variant of the 911 with the comfort and safety of an enclosed car.
Design DNA.
Typically 911: the long, flat hood, the steeply inclined windshield and the roof line that slopes gently down towards the rear. The fenders are more clearly shaped, the rear is powerful and clearly emphasizes the horizontal.
Light strip.
The seamless light strip with LED technology between the three-dimensional LED taillights characterizes the appearance of all 911 models. And makes them unmistakable, even at night.
Targa
An eye-catching and defining element of the 911 Targa models: the roll-over bar. It meets the highest safety requirements and has its own iconic character: with bar trims made of aluminum, lateral gills and the original 'targa' logo.
Hood
The hood with its characteristic dynamic recess profiles – and its straight slope to the front fascia – is a reference to the earlier 911 models.
Door handles.
The new door handles are completely recessed into the doors and are therefore discretely integrated into the car's image.
Agile and progressive: the 911 also appears particularly athletic due to the different wheel sizes at the front and rear. The up to 20/21-inch wheels offer more stability and comfort with the larger diameter on the rear axle.

The main headlights and taillights of 911 models are fitted with cutting edge LED technology. For fast responsiveness and powerful illumination. An distinctive feature of all 911 models: the four-point daytime running lights and low beam, and the seamless light strip at the rear.
LED headlights with matrix design including PDLS+.
The LED headlights with matrix design use high beam assist to automatically turn off high beam when there is oncoming traffic and reduce glare. The electronic cornering lights illuminate the curves optimally by switching individual LEDs on or off.
Night Vision Assist.
Night Vision Assist uses an infrared camera to detect pedestrians and large wildlife before they are illuminated by the headlights. A thermal image in the instrument cluster warns the driver.
Thanks to high-precision navigation data, Porsche InnoDrive identifies speed limits and road gradients such as slopes or curve radii on your route, before you reach them. And adapts the gear change strategy and speed. For intelligent driving and a clear efficiency advantage.
*The assistance provided by Porsche InnoDrive is subject to system limitations. The driver must monitor driving style at all times and intervene in cases of doubt. The system can be overridden at any time by use of the brake or accelerator pedal.
The system adapts the speed of your 911 depending on the distance to vehicle in front of you. If you approach another vehicle that is travelling slower than your selected cruising speed, the system slows the engine or gently applies the brakes. Even down to a halt. As soon as the road ahead clears, your 911 will accelerate back up to the cruising speed originally set.
Lane Keep Assist eases the burden on you by providing steering assistance, helping to keep the vehicle in lane. Traffic sign recognition displays speed limits, 'no passing' zones and indirect information, such as boundary signs, in the instrument cluster. The cornering notification displays an arrowed direction warning on the instrument cluster, alerting you to tight corners. Long before you reach them.
With 'WET' mode, the 911 uses an innovative system that aids you when driving in the wet. If the sensors in the front wheel housing detect wet roads, the system will recommend switching to 'WET mode'. The chassis control systems and the responsiveness of the drivetrain will then be adapted to the circumstances.
*The 'WET' driving mode is not a substitute for adopting an appropriate driving manner in different road and weather conditions, and is, at the most, an aid for the driver.
Surround View displays the area around your 911 from different camera perspectives and generates a virtual bird's eye view of the car and displays this on the PCM screen.
